Lego 8092 Lukes Speeder - Star Wars Lego Review

Wow was my my first thought when my son and I first saw this set in the stores. I remember the old landspeeder set from the 1999 Lego range (7110 Landspeeder) but I never bought it. I always love the Episode 4-6 models so this kit is a must to have. But why is it double the price in Australia compared to the US (and our dollar is worth more the the US dollar)? US$25 is fine (about AUD$23) but no, Lego Australia sells it for AUD$49 (US$55)!!

Anyway back with the review of the Lego 8092 Luke’s Landspeeder kit. Inside the smallish box are three plastic bags of bricks, two loose tubes and an instruction booklet. I notice no sticker sheets – excellent, I wish Lego would stop the stickers and print the bricks instead. It says there are 163 pieces and I ended up with six spare.

Lego 8092 has six minifigures – well five normal ones and a little droid. This kit has the newer Star Wars minifigure faces. Lego, in their wisdom, has tried to add more expression the the minifig faces by adding a small white dot to their eyes. I don’t like it as it isn’t like the other minifigs and makes a little like anime style (the new Yoda is a good example).

Luke Skywalker and Old Ben Kenobi minifigures look much the same as other versions but have slight changes. The minifigs have more detail printed on them. Luke has slightly changed body that has a new design printed with a larger belt, his pants a little different as well. Luke also has long blonde hair compared to the older kit – doesn’t look bad at all. Ben looks to have more creases in his Jedi robes and has a belt. These two minifigures come with blue lightsabers.

C-3P0 and R2-D2 are in this set. The C-3P0 minifigure looks the same to me, no much if anything has changed. R2-D2 hasthe whole head printed and looks the part, it’s a pity the body has only the front part printed.

This kit come with one Imperial Sandtrooper. This is different to Stormtroopers by having a black cloth shoulder pauldron and a re-breather. This is only available in this set.
The other minifigure is just a few bricks put together to make a little sentry droid. Nice with the Sandtrooper but not a biggy.

Doing a search on minifigures the Luke, Ben and Sandtrooper are not available in any other set and the C-3P0 and R2-D2 are only available in large expensive sets, so that is pretty good I think.

Now onto the Landspeeder. This looks much better than the 1999 version of the Landspeeder . It is still the same colour scheme as the old model but has much more detail and is bigger. The flexible plastic pipe at the front of the craft, the curved windscreen, the opening boot are great. The boot fits the lightsabers but you have to pull them apart. The cockpit has room for Luke and Ben and at side of the centre engine is enough space to put the C-3P0 and R2-D2 Lego minifigures. The landspeeder has pieces on the bottom so it looks a bit like it’s floating (plus can be pushed around easier). The speeder is about 15cm long and 5cm wide.

All in all a great set except for the rip-off price from Lego Australia. But of course now it is an older set the set is getting up in price because it is rare and people are hunting for it.

Lego Star Wars 6210 Jabba’s Sail Barge Collectable Review

The Lego Star Wars 6210 Jabba’s Sail Barge is a set based from the Return of the Jedi movie. The Khetanna was the large sail barge owned by crime baddie Jabba the Hutt.

We bought this set a while back, I think about 2007, at a department store and what a great set it is. This was a set that my young son instantly fell in love with and so did I – straight away I thought of the great scene in the movie where Jabba the Hutt gave the orders to have Luke Skywalker thrown into the Pit of Carkoon. Apart from the great Sail Barge it has a very good Desert Skiff vehicle and a cool Sarlac Pit to complete the look plus a large number of Lego minifigures.

The set has 781 pieces and a great lot of 8 Lego minifigures. I will start with the minifigures – you get Jabba the Hut, R2-D2 as a butler, the classic Boba Fett (no arm or leg printing like the Cloud City version), Han Solo, Princess Leia in the metal bikini (she has a stud on the back to attach the chain that Jabba has to stop her escaping from him), a typical Gamorrean Guard, Lando Calrissian wearing his undercover guard outfit and Luke Skywalker as a Jedi all in black.

One thing you will notice with Jabba’s Sail Barge is that there is a lot of brown Lego bricks (I remember calling them blocks when I was young) but that doesn’t detract from the look, it makes it more realistic to the Star Wars movie, it is meant to be timber remember. It is a big Lego set without the big price tag of some of the larger sets. You can also make two other models with the parts – turns it into more of movie scene.

The Desert Skiff is simple to build looks good with the plank out ready for prisoners to be dropped into the Sarlac. You have a good number of minifigs needed to make some good fun acting out scenes from the Return of the Jedi movie.

The Sarlac Pit does look pretty good although, maybe, a little bigger. The mouth does look a bit like the mouth of the Sarlac, full of teeth and designed so a minifig can fit in. Maybe a couple of its tentacles would have been nice.

This Star Wars Lego set is fun to play with but you do need to be careful with the sails – they come off just a bit too easy. The windows open up to give you little peeks inside just like in the movie but the big door sides that open are great letting you see and play with all the bits inside the Star Wars Jabbas Sail Barge. There is plenty of space inside to have Jabba and Leia Lego minifigures along with other bits and pieces like the spider and guns and a cool R2D2 minifig running around serving drinks.

Star Wars Lego Freeco Speeder 8085 review

The Star Wars Lego Freeco Speeder 8085 is a set that comes straight from the Star Wars Clone Wars animated show. On the show it is also called the CK-6 Swoop and were the speeders used by the Republic on ice planets.

Anyway that’s enough about the background of the speeder , what about the Lego set itself. Well the set has 177 pieces and the design isn’t too bad for a smaller Lego set, the Star Wars minifigures are good as well. The Lego speeder is very easy to build and holds together very well so kids can play with it without the thing falling apart. The kit has a small sticker sheet for a few of the blocks to make it a Lego Clone Wars Speeder, this is one thing I don’t like – I have mentioned it before that I want printed bricks and to be honest it would not increase the sale price at all (it would only add cents to the manufacture price).

Now the two Star Wars Lego minifigures.

The Thi-Sen minifigure (Thi-Sen is the Chieftan of the Orto Plutonian tribe of Talz) has light grey body and legs with a dark grey hands, spines, cape as well as his face. His head, face, cape, and spines is all one piece just like how the Chewbacca minifig is, with a large molded head that goes down over the torso. He has just one extra, a spear. This Lego Freeco Speeder set is the only set this minifigure comes in.

The Anakin Skywalker minifigure is wearing snow fatigues - a dark royal blue parka that has a fur-edged hood. Anakin has white hands and light grey legs. This mini-figure has a double-sided head; one side has a face with goggles and a cover over his nose and mouth, the other side seems to be the standard Anakin face. He come with a blue lightsaber (it looks to be a different shade of blue compared to others) with a light grey hilt. Behind the cockpit plastic dome you can store Anakins light saber. The parka print is different than the print on the Han Solo one, it has a little more detail in it and has the Rebel symbol on the coat and hood.

Overall not a bad little set. Easy to build and the Lego minifigures are good. A couple of negatives are the stickers and the price, a little too dear for the size of the set (especially in Australia). My son give it a thumbs up.

Lego review - 10215 Obi-Wans Jedi Starfighter collectable

Lego seems to be really good at surprising all it's fans. So when the Lego group announced that they were going to release a new range of Star Wars Lego sets, these fans straight away started wondering what they could actually be. They did not need to wait for very long though. The set for Star Wars Lego that was to be released around the end of 2010 (actually, it's just released in Australia) is going to be the Ultimate Collector Series version of Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter - called, naturally, 10215 Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter.

This ship is the one that was in the Attack Of The Clones movie and is a really smooth looking red and white starship. It is a ship that Jedi Knights have, super sleek and fast and officially known as a Delta-7 Aether-sprite class light interceptor. Although Jedi Knights only do peaceful missions, Obi-Wan found this starship to be very useful when he was pursuing Jango Fett with it's twin-barrelled cannon lasers. In the movie the starfighter used an external hyperdrive ring that was around the ship so it could travel in hyperspace, and although the smaller Lego Obi-Wan Starship sets had this ring the UCS set does not; its omission is one thing Lego could have improved on this model.

The set only has 676 Lego pieces, a lot but not many compared to other USC Lego sets such as the Imperial Shuttle - that has a huge 2500 pieces in the kit. It is a real big model, size wise. It measures 23 cm high (on the included stand), 47 cm long and 22 cm wide and it's retail price is around $99 ($174 in Australia) which I think is a bit much seeing it hasn't a lot of bricks nor Star Wars Lego minifigures - you could argue that the ship isn't minifig scale so should have a minifigure - but one would be nice.. The ship is really easy to build, nothing special of complicated during the build at all.This lego model has a really detailed cockpit and interior and outside has a droid minifigure - a R4-P17 - that rotates in the wing. This minifig will be quite a collectors item as it is bigger and looks different to other droids that are available in other sets.

As with all other USC models this one also comes with a plaque and a display stand to show the ship off properly - the ship can turn around 360 degress so you can pose it just how you like.. My major gripe would be the price point that this set is sold for. I know it is a USC kit but it is too dear, my opinion is wait to get it on sale before rushing out to buy it.

Lego Star Wars New Releases For Late 2010

Star Wars and Lego are a successful partnership that brought the toy company back to life. Either when they announce new sets or when they discontinue old ones, toy stores and the market for used goods are shaken by a wave of consumers interested in buying Star Wars Lego collectables sets. 2010 has already seen those trends as Lego announced a couple of sets featuring the two movie trilogies, and also the TV series Star Wars Clone Wars. Later this year, Lego will start selling new sets to finish 2010 off with a golden plate. Here they are:

Imperial Star Destroyer (Set #8099)
In terms of size, you can compare this set with 2009's Millennium Falcon (Set #7778). This set was very tiny for Lego minifigures, and at the same time too big to be classified as a mini set, thus being named a Midi scale. If you are a true fan, you must remember the three previous releases of the Imperial Star Destroyer: 2002's Ultimate Collector version, 2004's mini version and 2006's minifigure scale model. This 423-piece set will hit the stores with a $39.99 suggested price tag. Young hands can hold it without any problems because this is a small and sturdy model. As a suggestion, this new Imperial Star Destroyer would make a great companion for the Millennium Falcon previously cited. But I must say I don't like this size set at all I want something minifigure scale and way too expensive.

At-At (Set #8129)
This is another fan favourite; the third Lego minifigure scale release, in fact. This will be set once again in the planet Hoth, which was featured on The Empire Strikes Back film. This version features a lot of figures: Han Solo, pilot Luke Skywalker (as a pilot), C3PO, an AT-AT Driver, a Roth rebel, two Snowtroopers, and General Veers.

Imperial Shuttle, Ultimate Collector Series (Set #10212)
Some fans were hoping that the previous set was going to be set in Endor. If you are one of those, you will soon forget about that once you see how stylish this new set is. It has 2500+ pieces and an amazing list of minifigures: Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, a shuttle pilot, a stormtrooper and an Imperial Officer. From a first glance this is an impressive Lego set, where fans are likely to buy it out of passion, and forget about the price tag. The previous UCS Millenium Falcon had already combined minifigures with a UCS set, so this will likely hit the same buttons and be a sales success. A little expensive because I feel the minifigs aren't up to scratch.

The previous 2010 Lego releases have featured an interesting combination of sets targeting a wide variety of age groups, as well as caring for fans of the saga era. Minifigures have brought nice redesigns, cool new characters but also kept some old favorite ones. The three sets featured in this article are likely to keep the same balanced combination among all these factors, ensuring more success between the Star Wars franchise and the toy company.

8089 Lego Star Wars Hoth Wampa Cave and minifigures review

I am looking forward to opening this new Star Wars Lego set. The 8089 Lego Star Wars Hoth Wampa Cave set has 297 pieces and a few great minifigures. The set is the famous scene from the Episode V movie, The Empire Strikes Back where the Wampa has taken Luke Skywalker back to its cave to eat.

The Lego cave is meant to be simulating an icy environment but isn’t quite right and does not look good to me but, I guess, it matches the other Hoth sets well. Yes, combine it with Star Wars Lego sets 7749, 8083, and 8084. The cave has a place that Luke hangs from and a place for his lightsaber so he can ‘use the force’ and retrieve it to kill the Wampa. It also has a skeleton minifigure and a big bone thing to set the scene,

So I mentioned the Star Wars Lego minifigures a little. This is what the set has; a great Wampa ice creature, skeleton (the same as the Castle set ones I think), Luke Skywalker in snow gear and Zev Senesca minifigs. All pretty cool. The biggy I would think that people will want to collect will be the Wampa, it is still a bit cartoony and not Lego style but thats my opinion. It looks good with the big claw that can hold a minifig though, put Luke in its claw and pretend its dragging him back to the Wampa cave.

The set doesn’t just have the Wampa snow cave though, it has a great little Snowspeeder – lots a detail and I love the little display inside showing an AT-AT. To build the set is much the same as the previous Hoth set Lego Echo Base 7749, fairly simple and fun for young kids. But, one thing, I do think it is a bit expensive I think the price should have been between what it is and the small battle packs.

8089 Lego Star Wars Hoth Wampa Cave and minifigures

The Star Wars Lego set 7749 Echo Base, in my opinion, is a very good set. The set was released as part of the 10th Anniversary Line of Star Wars Lego. The set is meant to be a scene from Episode V The Empire Strikes Back at the secret Rebel Base that is on the ice planet Hoth where AT-AT's and AT-ST's start to attack the secret Rebel Base and destroy their shield generator to get to the Rebel Transports.

So what is so good about this Lego set. Well I like the Hoth scene (plus other sets can join in) but probably the best would be the terrific rare minifigs that are included. You get Han Solo in Hoth clothing, two Hoth Rebel Troopers, two Snowtrooper minifigures and for the first time a super rare Lego Tauntaun figure. The Star Wars Lego Hoth Rebel Troopers have new style goggles and the Snowtroopers have new weapons, so guess that’s a plus as well - even if it is just a small thing.

The set is fairly easy to build, my son put it together really quickly. It has a rotating battery turret which has those push-to-fire missiles that launch out. The turret has a hidden door and top hatch to hold a Lego minifigure. A negative, though, is the turret comes off too easily from the base but it's still great to play with. The bunker has a flip back mechanism – you push down in the centre - that is used to flick the Hoth minifigures backwards so you can pretend that they have been blown up – a cool touch.

A great set for Lego Star Wars collectors and also for kids with it’s great minifigures and fun playabilty.

Star Wars Lego 7754 Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser

I saw this great Star Wars Lego set a little while back and it is a beauty. The Star Wars Lego 7754 Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser is a big Lego set that has got a part scene from the Home One Rebel flagship of Admiral Ackbar's (this was in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi). It has the command centre and a briefing room and also a cool Death Star hologram brick. Plus it has a cool hangar with a Green Squadron A-wing starfighter.

It has 6 rare Lego Star Wars minifigures - that is right, none of these minifigures have appeared in a Star Wars Lego set before. You get Admiral Ackbar, Mon Mothma, Crix Madine, Mon Calamari Officer, a new Lando Calrissian plus a Green-Squadron A-Wing pilot. It has a Limited Edition sticker so maybe it is a hard to get lego set, I don't know though.
Anyway my son loves at and I think it is great just because it is not another star ship.

Star Wars 2010 - 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter

There has been a little news of late about all the new Star Wars Lego sets for 2010.
This 8088 set looks pretty good, with a nice selection of Star Wars minifigures to collect.

The Lego Star Wars ARC-170 Starfighter set number 8088 is a good remake of the old 7259 Lego kit, slightly different nose it seems, and with some great mini-figures that haven't been available before. A Kit Fisto minifig but in a new design (meaning the old Kit Fisto minifigure will be a rare collectible), Captain Jag (from Ep III, I think), a Clone Pilot with new helmet design, and an R4-P44 astromech droid minifigures.

The 8088 ARC-170 Star Fighter looks to have flick firing missiles, wings that unfold into attack position and three cockpits that open. The Star Wars lego kit is a big 434 pieces and due out after Christmas, around January 2010.

Star Wars Lego 8036 Separatist Shuttle Set

This Star Wars Lego set is the great 8036 Separatist Shuttle. And why is it great? A few reasons, it is available in August but my local store has them already, the price is really good for what you get, and there are five Lego minifigures; two of those are rare Lego minifigures not available in other Lego sets.
The Lego Separatist Shuttle is a fairly simple ship, big enough to hold a minifigure pilot and the Gunray minifig - it is a Star Wars shuttle after all. The doors for the Viceroy work well by sliding open, nice touch, you just twist the side knob and gears open the doors. The pilot area has an opening cockpit for the Droid Pilot and it is solid gray - that's because this Lego Shuttle is an automated ship and doesn't need a pilots window, so true to the shows I guess. The spacecraft is strong and wont fall apart easily like some Star Wars sets and sits down on folding legs. Again the set contains decals/stickers - I wish the Lego bricks themselves would be printed instead. The Lego stickers were mainly blue stripes.There are the rare Lego minifigs: a Neimoidian called Viceroy Nute Gunray and Rodian from the planet Rodia called Senator Onaconda Farr, both great looking Lego characters - as well as two Battle Droids and one Pilot Droid minifig. The pilot has a blue body, older Lego Pilot droids had a painted chest didn't they, so this may be a minifigure worth collecting as well?Overall this a Lego Star Wars set worth buying, the Separatist Shuttle is a good looker and three out of the five Lego minifigures are rare collectables. Buy it , it is a bargain. The set has 259 parts and an easy build for anyone, didn't take my son very long.

Cheap Lego Star Wars Minifigures – Again with the Clones

Even Palpatine was mighty pleased with himself as he admired the Imperial clone army; after all, he got a good bargain for the most menacing machine of war. While the Kaminos did imply that it takes deep pockets to avail of their services, the long term plan always makes it more than worth it. The same can be said about collecting Star Wars minifigures.

Minifigures are the Lego people that inhabit the Star Wars Lego toy world. They have detachable legs, hands and heads and they vary according to the paint job they possess. While some are pretty common and produced in large numbers, some are rare pieces that can cost a fortune. Cheap Lego minifigures are cheap not because they cost less per piece, but because they cost less as a set. It’s is pretty much like assembling parts for a pod racer, if it’s not for Sebulba, might as well buy it in bulk.

Often times, Lego sells a series of minifigures in a single package at a cost lower than purchasing each piece at retail value. Another alternative is to acquire any large sets you may need for your collection before purchasing minifigures directly. Large Star Wars Lego sets often have several minifigures and these will add to your collection. This is particularly helpful if you are planning to recreate scenes such as the Battle of Geonosis which requires a lot of Clone Trooper and battledroid minifigures. This would entail lots of clone trooper types from medics to commandos, and while buying each trooper minifigure is expensive, one can always opt to select the options I’ve listed above.

Still, the cheapest way to collect Star Wars Lego minifigures is to purchase them in bulk from other collectors. There are Lego Star Wars collectors who specialise mainly in vehicles and have no need to keep the minifigures so you could always arrange to purchase or trade for their minifigures. Another advantage of sourcing your minifigures from a collector is that you can be assured that the quality of the Star Wars minifigures would most likely be in good condition, as shiny as a Naboo Starfighter but as cheap as a Tatooine barge, a deal that would even make a Hutt proud.

Buying from other Lego collectors also allows you the option of actually buying individual parts instead of a whole minifigure. Some minifigures use generic parts, only distinguished by a unique head or torso. If you can manage to acquire the unique parts, you can purchase the other pieces cheaply in bulk. Pieces, when sold, are always cheaper than the minifigures as a whole. It is just like buying service parts piece by piece to assemble a whole new droid. If an adolescent Darth Vader can do it, so can you.

While the Kaminos may have perfected the science of creating, growing and training clones, you do not have to feel outclassed by amassing your own army of Lego Star Wars minifigures. Just remember these few simple non-Jedi tricks and you will have your own personal army of minifigures before the next Sith comes.

Lego 7680 The Twilight Star Wars Clone Set

This is Anakin Skywalker’s starship in the Clone Wars movie. Yes, I know it is an ugly looking Lego kit but remember the ship was ugly in the movie as well. I had been looking around for the cheapest 7680 Twilight Lego set and ended up at Ebay. Now it is built.

Anakins ship is called The Twilight, it is a tough, solid built ship and it shows in this big Lego Star Wars set. The Twilight Lego set has retractable landing gear and its wings can rotate so you can go from flight to landing mode. I like the cool, firing flick missile and the laser cannon turrets move around easy on the top.

A great little extra is the side-mounted escape pod and a winch with a tow-cable. The 7680 Twilight has a great group of minifigures - Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka (his apprentice), the ever cool R2-D2 plus little baby Rotta the Huttlet.

This is a big Lego set and it is a little hard to build, takes a while to complete. Remember it is going to be 30cm x 46cm! Big!! It's worth buying so look around for a great price and get it.

Fantastic 2009 Star Wars Lego 7751 Ahsokas Starfighter

Wow, this Star Wars Lego set looks amazing, doesn’t it. The new 2009 7751 Ashoka’s Starfighter and Vulture Droid. I think this will be an instant collectable.

I think it is one of the better Lego sets made and it includes some rare Lego minifigures like Ahsoka Tano(Anakins apprentice) and a new droid, the R7-A7 droid minifig. The cool looking Buzz droids minifigures are a major plus in the Lego set. Really, the Ashoka Starfighter is very similar to the 7669 Anakin Jedi starfighter , well exactly the same, except the colour and has some tiny details that are different.

Another new thing that is added on this set is the Vulture droid which is also really similar to the Vulture droid that is part of the 7660 Naboo starfighter set except now they are blue instead of brown. The Vulture droid goes into spider mode really well and looks great.

But sadly, the price really lowers the value of it, this set is really expensive, I am trying to find the cheapest 7751 Ahsokas Starfighter Lego set. Like I said it’s an awesome set but just priced way high especially seeing it is only a 291 piece Lego set.

And I really wish Lego would stop making Star Wars sets and just having stickers for the details instead of the way things should be and have them printed on the Lego blocks.

Star Wars Lego Collectables Christmas

Look at this wonderful Star Wars Lego scene someone has made. It is a Christmas nativity scene made out of Lego blocks from Star Wars sets and a fantastic Lego Santa sleigh from Star Wars minifigures. Lego themselves should release something like this at Christmas time, I am sure they would sell a million of these Star Wars minifigue sets.

Lego 8010 Darth Vader Star Wars Collectable Figure

I am not a great fan of the Lego Technic versions of Star Wars (they also have sets to build a Storm Trooper – looks a bit goofy, R2D2, C-3PO and others) – but once I saw a completed build of the super villain in Star Wars , the dark Sith called – Darth Vader I changed my mind. The 8010 Darth Vader set is from the year 2002 has around 400 Technic pieces comes with a real cloth cape and plenty of moving parts and a really cool Lightsaber. Darth Vaders head and helmet looks fantastic! Originally it was around the $40 mark but now it sells for at least a hundred more.

But this is not for the beginner Star Wars Lego builder. The directions to build Lord Vader are advanced and the parts a little hard to construct. Considering how simple it is to put together most of the Lego Star Wars sets, this Technic Darth Vader 8010 kit should presents a bit of a challenge for some children (and adults too I suppose) who love building Lego but want to move to the next level.

“He’s more machine now … twisted and evil” That’s what Old Ben Kenobi (Obi Wan Kenobi) told Luke in the great Star Wars movie Return of the Jedi when he was describing Darth Vader “But I can still feel good in him”. But he could’ve been talking about the Lego Star Wars: Darth Vader 8010 set. Fantastic .. hard to build but a great set, a real Lego collectible.!

Another nice unreleased kit. This Star Wars Lego set will be out around Feb 2009 and will be one set that is usually about the $15 range. The 8014 Clone Walker Battle Pack has a neat looking little Star Wars walker and four really good Clones.

It has three standard Clone Troopers, one with great accessories and one fantastic Clone Gunner minifigures . The Gunner mini figure has a standard Clone Wars helmet but it has a large black Republic symbol on the sides, with gold surrounding them and the body has the usual chest imprint but with an added triangle symbol and grey arms instead of white.
Nice and a worthy minifigure collectible. I am guessing that this will be a rare Star Wars Lego minifigure to collect.

Latest 2009 Star Wars Lego Set - 8019 Republic Attack Shuttle

Some nice new Star Wars Lego Collectable sets are coming. The new 8019 Republic Attack Shuttle set is meant to be released at the start of 2009 under Star Wars The Clone Wars Lego line.

It is not a bad looking Lego set, I like the dark red bricks and the lego minifigures that are included are Mace Windu looking like he does in the Clone Wars and not the previous sets, one Clone Pilot, and one Clone Trooper. The Lego ship is pretty much like the Republic Attack Shuttle in the clone wars movie, well close for being made out of Lego.

This is all pre release sets but I think it will be the final form now.

Slave 1 Lego Star Wars Instructions

If anyone is after some instructions on how to build the Slave 1 Star Wars Lego kit (it is number 7153 not the 7144 Slave 1 Lego set) well here it is straight from Lego themself. I am pretty sure it would suit both sets as the 7153 is just a re-release of the original 7144 Slave 1.

I hope it helps you out, Lego has many instructions for sets available as free downloads for people that lose their printed instructions.
This Star Wars Lego set is pretty good but I like the older green 7144 set with Lego Star Wars Mini-Figure Han Solo frozen in a Carbonite Block.

7681 Separatist Spider Droid Star Wars Lego Collectables

This 7681 Separatist Spider Droid is an excellent Star Wars Lego Collectable! It has four legs, medium and heavy guns, three battle droids minifigures (they have different arm to others), a Clone Trooper minifigure, the really cool looking and rare Commander Fox minifigure in his ARC trooper gear.
All in all the Separatist Spider Droid is very, very good.

The 7681 Separatist Spider Droid can stand on its own very easily, but its legs are a little wobbly so it may lean over on one side. This is probably because the Separatist Spider Droid lego looks extremely similar the one in Star Wars The Clone Wars movie that is just out, so it has to have skinny legs.
This is a great set considering the minifigures but a little expensive - get it when Lego has 20% off.

New Star Wars Lego Sets Released 7676 Republic Gunship

Below are some photos of the newest Star Wars Lego sets released. There are quite a few of them, the fantastic 7676 Republic Starship is one of them. This heavily armed troop transporter is part of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie.
It has great parts like the 2 cockpits in front and the 2 on the wings open, missiles, and a cool Star Wars Speeder Bike that comes out of the back hatch. This great Lego set includes five Lego minifigures to collect: Commander Cody, Clone Trooper, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and two new Star Wars Lego minifigures, Plo Koon and Asajj Ventress, a Sith equipped with a new double lightsaber.
As you can see it's a big set , look at the size of the box. My boy loves it, he wouldn't let this Star wars Lego collectable set out of is hands.

Rarest Lego Star Wars item - Vaders Mask, the best collectable

I was reading over at Yahoo Answers and someone asked what the rarest Lego piece would be. Well this is a Star Wars Lego Collectables blog so for this I was thinking maybe the Boba Fett minifigure from the Cloud City set. This photo shows the difference between the regular Boba Fett minifigure and the super rare one.But, to be honest, the absolute rarest Star Wars Lego piece would be this - the protype piece for the Darth Vader Helmet! For some reason Lego makes the prototypes in red plastic, maybe it makes them stand out, I don't really know why.
Sorry about the photo, it is the best I have. And, of course, it was never for sale and impossible to get!
So there you have it - my choice of the rarest Star Wars Lego Collectable piece!

I have posted photos and details on the yet to be released Star Wars Lego 7676 Republic Gunship before, the one with 5 Star Wars Lego minifigures - 2 Clone Troopers, Asajj Ventress (will be a rare collectable), Obi-Wan Kenobi and Plo Koon (will be a rare collectable).
Well it is still not released but you can actually download the build instructions from Lego themselves!!! Download them and try to build one with spare Lego you have laying around.

New Unreleased Death Star 10188 | Star Wars Lego Collectables

Lego is releasing a fantastic new Death Star set in September. I like it much better than the Death Star II, I never liked that model. This Death Star is more a diorama style set with little scenes from Star Wars Episodes IV and VI!

It has the Death Star control room, a hangar bay with TIE Advanced starfighter, the Emperor’s throne room, Imperial conference chamber, detention block, droid maintenance area, tractor beam controls with the powerful Death Star superlaser , the scene where Luke and Leia swing across the chasm , Luke, Chewie and Han Solo in danger with the trash compactor about to crush them - and with the Dianoga trash compactor monster - and the best part .. Lukes duel with Darth Vader and the Emperor!

This set has, amazingly, 25 different minifigures and droids - yes 25!!! Some will be very rare minifigures worth collecting. I know Yoda should not be in the Death Star scenes but I would have liked one.
All over this is one mighty set that any Star Wars Lego Collector would love to have, the only thing I don't like is the price $400!!! I actually would like some scenes like these in smaller kits - especially the Chasm and Trash compactor.

7661 Jedi Starfighter | Star Wars Lego Collectables

The Lego 7661 Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Booster Ring kit, I am guessing, is based on the Episode III Jedi Starfighter that Obi-Wan used. The set has 575 pieces - most of them is for the Hyperdrive Booster Ring that is a very long and very repetitive build. When built, the ring is very solid, I thought it would be a problem of falling apart all the time but it's all good.

The Starfighter is much the same as Anakins, except in blue (Anakins is yellow). It a great looking ship, I love the way the wings fold out. The ship clips onto the Hyperdrive Booster Ring really well, and stays put but you can take it off easy.
The set has two mini-figures, Obi Wan Kenobi and, for the first time, Kit Fisto. The Kit Fisto minifigure is rare so makes a good Lego collectable.

My son got this last Christmas and really likes this set but making it was pretty boring. This is great Star Wars Lego collectables set that provides some good playability and a really rare Kit Fisto minifigure.

6212 X-Wing Fighter Star Wars Lego Collectables

This Star Wars Lego Collectables set is an excellent Lego kit of one of Star Wars best spaceships. It is fairly big model and has a good level of detail in it. Star Wars Lego 6212 comes with a heap of Lego minifigures, including Wedge Antilles (first time - Rare Star Wars Lego minifigure), Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo (looks great with printed trousers), Chewbacca (yippie, I have Chewie!) and R2-D2 ! This set also lets you change some of the ship's marking, so you can convert it from Luke's X-Wing to Wedge's X-Wing - meaning the X-Wing can be either Luke Skywalkers Red Five or Wedges Red Three X-wing!.

The Lego 6212 X Wing Fighter has wings that move up and down via a turning dial in the back. This gives you more control of where you want the wings to sit, so you can pose it however you want, it works really well. There is also a place to store the lightsaber and the cockpit is hinged so you can open it.

I think this is the best X-Wing Fighter yet, probably because of the minifigures and the price is pretty good too, $69 at any local toy store - for a big model with six Star Wars Minifigures . It has 437 Lego pieces and took my son a few hours to build. It is a great Star Wars Lego model and great to collect.

7657 AT-ST Star Wars Lego Collectables

The 7657 AT-ST Star wars Lego Collectables set is from 2007 and is a pretty good set especially for it's price.
The Lego set has minimal colours, light grey, dark grey and black and not much else. There is gearing so the top can rotate like it is searching for enemy Ewoks! The legs are fantastic, very posable and well made.Going back up to the top, the inside of the cockpit has only room for one pilot and the pilot can be positioned to look out of the view ports!
The Star Wars Lego AT-ST Pilot minifig look pretty good with goggles and chin strap printed on the minifig and the helmet is a new design same as is the body. You also get a new design Imperial blasters for the pilot to blast away.
Overall a very good Star Wars Lego Collectables worth getting.

7667 Imperial Dropship with four minifigures

The 7667 Imperial Dropship was released at the start of 2008. The set was sold for AUD$19.99 and contains 81 pieces. This set includes four great minifigures - 3 stormtroopers and a shadow stormtrooper equiped with 2 guns and 2 rifles . My son loves these four mini-figures

Equipped with forward-firing laser cannons and carrying three stormtroopers, the 7667 Imperial Dropship, piloted by a shadow trooper, is designed to sweep down to the battlefield and drop off the detachable troop platform then fly away.

Here are some close up photos of the new minifigures that will come with the Star Wars sets in August 2008 ( here and here ). These are pre production but this looks like the final thing.
The 7673 MagnaGuard Starfighter has General Grievous' elite personal bodyguards - MagnaGuard minifigures from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
7676 Republic Gunship, all the gunship's minifigs are brand new, including one episode II clone trooper, Obi-Wan Kenobi (clone trooper armor), Asajj Ventress (with Skirt), Plo Koon and Commander Cody with pauldron and visor on helmet.
7675 AT-TE Walker, has 2 clone troopers, a Battle Droid on STAP, Anakin Skywalker, the Togruta padawan Ashoka and Rotta minifigures.

This Star Wars Lego collectable is of a great moment in the Star Wars movies - Sitting in his throne room, Emperor Palpatine awaits Luke Skywalker's arrival. The Emperor's plan will soon be complete. Along with Darth Vader, he will bring Luke over to the dark side...
A great little set (although it cost me a fair bit) with Emperor Palpatine (fairly rare)and Darth Vader.
7201 Final Duel II completes the story.

7672 - Rogue Shadow

This is my latest Star Wars Lego kit - it is the 7672 - Rogue Shadow and part of the new Star Wars the Force Unleashed series.
It is a pretty big kit, it comes with two instruction booklets and 482 pieces. It is a fairly hard ship to build, the wings are very hard to align correctly.
This super kit has three Star Wars mini-figures - a great Battle Damaged Darth Vader, Imperial officer and pilot Juno Eclipse and Darth Vaders Apprentice - WOW! Click the photos for huge versions to see all the detail!

7144 Slave I

No Star Wars Lego collection would be complete without Boba Fett's spaceship, the Slave 1, that you saw in Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. The wings and the guns swivel around so that it can look appropriate for landing and flight mode. This Lego set came out in the year 2000.

The Boba Fett mini figure fits neatly into the cockpit and it also comes with a frozen in carbonite Han Solo that also fits into the rear of the Slave 1 ship! The Boba Fett minifig has his jetpack and helmet in one piece - removing the helmet reveals a solid black head beneath and the little LEGO Han Solo encased in carbonite brings a smile to my face every time I see it.

Very cool and worth the money. A great addition for anyone that is into Star Wars Lego Collectables.

7166 Imperial Shuttle

I just have to say this is one of my favorite Star Wars Lego sets.

For one, it comes with imperial guards, some of the coolest minifigs in the lego world. Second, the shuttle itself is one of my favourite ships from the movies. If you don't have it, I'd recomend buying it.
The 7166 Imperial Shuttle contains 234 pieces and includes minifigures of an Imperial Pilot, Emperor Palpatine and two Royal Guards.

7190 Millennium Falcon

This great kit is the 7190 Millennium Falcon from 2004.
The 7190 Millennium Falcon contains 659 pieces and includes of R2-D2, C-3PO, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca, it is from the Star Wars movie Episode IV era. What a great kit for the best Star Wars mini-figures.

New pre-production Star Wars Lego 2008 models

Here is a sneak peek of some soon to be in production models for latter in 2008. These photos are pics taken of magazine/catalogue pages ( I think Toys R Us) so they look a little distorted.

First is the 7676 Republic Gunship, looks like it come with 5 characters/ mini-figures ... 2 Clone Troopers, Asajj Ventress, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Plo Koon.

Second, the 7673 Magna Droid Fighter, looks like a P-38 , seems like it will come with two Magna Guards mini-figures.

Third the 7674 V-19 Torrent Starfighter, the wings fold/ transforn but no idea if there are characters with it, hopefully a pilot at least.

The last model, 7675 AT-TE Walker, looks pretty decent. It will have 5 mini-figures... 2 Clone Troopers, Anakin Skywalker, Asoka and Maze. Excellent!

7669 Anakin's Jedi Starfighter

The 7669 Anakin's Jedi Starfighter has just come out in January 2008.
The set includes Anakin's Delta-7 Jedi Starfighter in the same color scheme as his 7256 Jedi Starfighter and Vulture Droid Eta-2 Jedi Interceptor and the Minifigures included are Anakin Skywalker and R2-D2 .

Coming straight from the Clone Wars, Anakins Jedi Starfighter flies off into battle. This is the first ever set to be released from Star Wars Clone Wars. This set comes with a brand new Anakin Skywalker from the Clone Wars.

7103 - Jedi Duel

This Star Wars lego collectable set is only a small one but it is a beauty. Yoda and Count Dooku duelling as in Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones.

Count Dooku's curved lightsaber is getting quite collectable now and Yoda is always a favourite. This photo doesn't have Count Dooku wearing his cape but he does come with one, in brown.
