My review of the Lego Star Wars, 75183 Darth Vader Transformation set with rare minfigures. What a great collectable.

The Star Wars universe brought in a lot of interesting minifigures, but nothing is quite like this. This Darth Vader Transformation set is one of the major Lego Star Wars minifigure collectables that can be very hard to find. What you will like about it is the fact that it covers a pivotal scene in the Star Wars world, and one that manages to change the entire saga into the long story we know and love today.

Who is the Darth Vader Transformation set for and what does it include?

LEGO suggests the 75183 Darth Vader Transformation set is for kids aged 7-12. The product itself comes with 282 pieces and complete details on how to build it. But the most important thing is the outstanding attention to detail and stellar quality provided here. The entire system is replicated according to the movie, and it has all the bells and whistles that you got to see during the movie.

The set is designed to be a Lego-themed recreation of the medical bay where Anakin Skywalker is turned into Darth Vader, one of the main antagonists of the story. You have the table that has space for Anakin, and once the table is lowered, it flips to show off Darth Vader.

Included with the set you have some interesting Lego Star Wars minifigure collectables. These are all rare Lego minifigures Darth Vader’s minifigure, Anakin Skywalker, as well as Emperor Palpatine. Aside from that, the set also has 2 medical droids. They don’t come as prebuilt minifigures however, you have to build them yourself.

 What makes the Darth Vader Transformation set stand out?

Maybe the best thing about this set is that it’s a faithful recreation of the movie. The table looks just like it did in the movie, and it’s double-sided to help you showcase the transformation of our hero into a villain. On top of that, there are lots of cool details here too. They added a force explode function, lightsaber rack, there’s even a helmet applicator. All of these provide context to the scene, but they also bring in amazing visuals and help you connect with the hero as he transforms into an antagonist.


It’s also nice to see that they added medical tool elements and even 2 lightsabers to show the transformation of our hero as well. If you want to send others flying once Vader learns about Padme, you can do that thanks to a dedicated force power button.  The set is 3” high, 8” deep and 17” wide. It really is an extraordinary, very high-quality Lego set that you will cherish and enjoy.

 Conclusion

There are lots of things to love about the Darth Vader Transformation set. It looks amazing, it’s almost identical to the scene in the movie and you also get multiple minifigures with it. Plus, you have plenty of accessories and a cool use of Force powers. This Darth Vader Transformation is great for kids and even people of all ages that love Star Wars. This set was before Disney bought the Star Wars rights, so this set is worth more money because of that.

LEGO Star Wars new 501st Legion Clone Troopers Building Kit, available now?

Yes, there is going to be a Lego Star Wars 501st Legion Clone Troopers Set!

The release of the LEGO Star Wars 501st Legion Clone Troopers is fast approaching, and it is a great addition to our collection of Star Wars lego. This Set is the latest battle pack to allow us fans to add an arsenal of minifigures and vehicles to their Star Wars army of bricks. This time, LEGO has delivered a total of 285 bricks, including two brick vehicles. While we have seen this type of vehicle before, the design included here is unique to this 501st Battle Pack. This construction is rounded off with matching blue accents that match the included minifigures.

Lego sets based on the LEGO Star Wars 501st Legion Clone Troopers Set, which is great for role playing games because it's a lot of fun to put things together. The Lego set is a great addition to your collection of other LEGO Star Wars sets and combine them for even more action.What a great layout it would make when you combine a few different ones in a diorama.
This playset contains the Clone Troopers from the first season of Star Wars: The awakening, which can be seen in the second episode of the series as well as in the third and fourth episodes I think.

During the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion, also known as the 501st Battalion, served as a battalion of clone troops in the Great Army of the Republic. Phase I Clone Trooper Armor uses the same color scheme as its real-life counterparts. The 501st Legion designates the clones and soldiers of the battalion as a separate unit and not as part of a larger unit. Phase 2 501st Clone Trooper is back, this time in the form of CT-5385, one of the most popular Clone Troopers in LEGO Star Wars. CT's Nickname is "Tup" is a clone trooper who served in both 501st. Legion and the Great Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars! In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, author Timothy Zahn paid tribute to the group's disguise by incorporating it into the 501st Legion Elite Stormtrooper Unit. Several other writers followed suit, cementing the Legion's name in the official Star Wars universe.
The group was originally under the command of Anakin Skywalker and was considered an elite unit of the Republic's military. When the Emperor ordered the 66s, they were a clone-killing squad, but when Darth Vader's personal military unit, the 501st Legion, nicknamed "Vader's Fist," became his personal and military units after the death of his father Obi-Wan Kenobi.

 

Star Wars Lego profile and avatar pics to download.

The last Star Wars movie was out only a month or so back, Rise Of Skywalker and of course a new Star Wars movie means new Star Wars Lego.  Or at least talk about it, both the Lego bricks and Star Wars Lego video games.

What happened back then was people started using Star Wars Lego characters as their Avatars and Profile pictures on both Tik Tok and Instagram, I noticed it but had no idea why as I am sure there was no new game coming out (I am sure there will be though, and new building kits but later in the year I would think).

Can someone explain why everyone on TikTok has a Lego Star Wars characters as their profile pic? Well a little reading shows that it was all a protest about some stupid in house Tok Tok content creators.

I read on the New York Times that the whole thing started on TikTok, with people banding together to protest against a group called Hype House. Hype House is an LA-based mansion where a team of TikTok content creators together to pump out heaps of fake crappy content hoping followers will buy the brands associated with them.

I guess people don’t like all this fake cheesy content so Star Wars avatar profile pictures were a way to protest somehow, no idea how though. And as all things internet go, people followed and more people and more people. Even just the blue ring around the profile pic, not always a Lego character.
And, to be fair, all the Lego Star Wars are pretty good. And Lego Star Wars was always fun for playing everything and everyone so there could be worse things for a profile picture.

Australian review of Lego set 75265 T-16 Skyhopper vs Bantha Microfighters

Here’s a little Lego set that’s really good value and should be a good set to collect.  It is a fantastic little kit and they say is based on Episode IV A New Hope.

The sets full name is T-16 Skyhopper vs Bantha Microfighters (75265) starship, is really an easy building set and although we collect them, this set is a good one to play with seeing its got two good vehicles and two great Lego minifigures to muck around with.

The T-16 Skyhopper vehicle has two working guns that shoot out stud pieces and a place for the minifigure pilot to sit in.  The Bantha creature is really cool and is posable in a little way.  It has a saddle on top for you to sit the minifig Tusken Raider on and also a Bantha stick (or is it a staff?) holder if you don’t want the Tusken Raider to hold it.
The head of the Tusken Raider is really detailed I think, they’ve done a great job with this one.  Both of these minifigures would be good to collect I reckon.

The kit has 198 parts in the box and doesn’t actually take too long to build.  It would be a good one for a parent to build one and your little kid build the other together as some fun.

Collecting Star Wars Lego. Is it for kids or for serious collectors? 7754 Home One Calamari Star Cruiser

With a society of both Star Wars and LEGO fanatics, it is no surprise that the 1999 launch to Star Wars Lego sets has become a popular choice in builders and collectors.  With well over 300 sets hitting the market in the last 20 years, some mini figures and scene sets have become more popular than others.  While several of the sets have been phased out from the earlier episodes, their loyal following and high demand have made them rare and desired.  Rare Star Wars Lego minifigure people have become valuable and been put on display in various collector's homes and museums.  

The Lego toys are not always designed for play or for children even though my son really loved this set when we bought it years ago.  These rare sets are a collector's dream and they would cringe at the thought of them being played with or destructed.  The Star Wars Lego 7754 Home One Calamari Star Cruiser is one of the sets one serious collectors wish lists, featuring not one but six never seen (when the lego set was release that is) minifigures.

Australian Star Wars LEGO 7957 Sith Nightspeeder Review

Australian Star Wars LEGO 7957 Sith Nightspeeder Review. I saw this LEGO set in the local stores, in Australia, for a while now but never really liked the looks of it, I am not keen on Clone Wars sets. But seeing it was a Star Wars LEGO set we thought we had better go and buy it.

The main reason, I guess, for buying it would be the three Star Wars minifigures included. It has an Asajj Ventress minifig which has a different body and printed legs than the one from the 7676 Republic Gunship set. The second minifig is Savage Opress, which is a LEGO minifig with horns on its head, like Darth Maul. The third minifig is a slightly different Anakin Skywalker that has a better body pattern. All three minifigures are only available in this set and I must mention that the backs are printed as well (fairly rare for minifigures).

The vehicle is also very nice but I haven’t a clue what the real one from the show looks like as I haven’t seen one on an episode. It is a combination of a engine base that two speeder attach to one side, I am not sure if I like it or not but at least it is different. Building the set is very simple and fun and one big surprise was they had some printed bricks – at last, some real printed brick and not stickers. Unfortunately not all were printed and some still needed stickers – gee for the price they could all be printed.
Looking at the price of this set in Australia, it is a crazy $50 – way too expensive for a small set of only 213 pieces. I think this set is really just for the die-hard fans as it is over-priced for what you get.

Lego 8092 Lukes Speeder - Star Wars Lego Review

Wow was my my first thought when my son and I first saw this set in the stores. I remember the old landspeeder set from the 1999 Lego range (7110 Landspeeder) but I never bought it. I always love the Episode 4-6 models so this kit is a must to have. But why is it double the price in Australia compared to the US (and our dollar is worth more the the US dollar)? US$25 is fine (about AUD$23) but no, Lego Australia sells it for AUD$49 (US$55)!!

Anyway back with the review of the Lego 8092 Luke’s Landspeeder kit. Inside the smallish box are three plastic bags of bricks, two loose tubes and an instruction booklet. I notice no sticker sheets – excellent, I wish Lego would stop the stickers and print the bricks instead. It says there are 163 pieces and I ended up with six spare.

Lego 8092 has six minifigures – well five normal ones and a little droid. This kit has the newer Star Wars minifigure faces. Lego, in their wisdom, has tried to add more expression the the minifig faces by adding a small white dot to their eyes. I don’t like it as it isn’t like the other minifigs and makes a little like anime style (the new Yoda is a good example).

Luke Skywalker and Old Ben Kenobi minifigures look much the same as other versions but have slight changes. The minifigs have more detail printed on them. Luke has slightly changed body that has a new design printed with a larger belt, his pants a little different as well. Luke also has long blonde hair compared to the older kit – doesn’t look bad at all. Ben looks to have more creases in his Jedi robes and has a belt. These two minifigures come with blue lightsabers.

C-3P0 and R2-D2 are in this set. The C-3P0 minifigure looks the same to me, no much if anything has changed. R2-D2 hasthe whole head printed and looks the part, it’s a pity the body has only the front part printed.

This kit come with one Imperial Sandtrooper. This is different to Stormtroopers by having a black cloth shoulder pauldron and a re-breather. This is only available in this set.
The other minifigure is just a few bricks put together to make a little sentry droid. Nice with the Sandtrooper but not a biggy.

Doing a search on minifigures the Luke, Ben and Sandtrooper are not available in any other set and the C-3P0 and R2-D2 are only available in large expensive sets, so that is pretty good I think.

Now onto the Landspeeder. This looks much better than the 1999 version of the Landspeeder . It is still the same colour scheme as the old model but has much more detail and is bigger. The flexible plastic pipe at the front of the craft, the curved windscreen, the opening boot are great. The boot fits the lightsabers but you have to pull them apart. The cockpit has room for Luke and Ben and at side of the centre engine is enough space to put the C-3P0 and R2-D2 Lego minifigures. The landspeeder has pieces on the bottom so it looks a bit like it’s floating (plus can be pushed around easier). The speeder is about 15cm long and 5cm wide.

All in all a great set except for the rip-off price from Lego Australia. But of course now it is an older set the set is getting up in price because it is rare and people are hunting for it.

Lego Star Wars 6210 Jabba’s Sail Barge Collectable Review

The Lego Star Wars 6210 Jabba’s Sail Barge is a set based from the Return of the Jedi movie. The Khetanna was the large sail barge owned by crime baddie Jabba the Hutt.

We bought this set a while back, I think about 2007, at a department store and what a great set it is. This was a set that my young son instantly fell in love with and so did I – straight away I thought of the great scene in the movie where Jabba the Hutt gave the orders to have Luke Skywalker thrown into the Pit of Carkoon. Apart from the great Sail Barge it has a very good Desert Skiff vehicle and a cool Sarlac Pit to complete the look plus a large number of Lego minifigures.

The set has 781 pieces and a great lot of 8 Lego minifigures. I will start with the minifigures – you get Jabba the Hut, R2-D2 as a butler, the classic Boba Fett (no arm or leg printing like the Cloud City version), Han Solo, Princess Leia in the metal bikini (she has a stud on the back to attach the chain that Jabba has to stop her escaping from him), a typical Gamorrean Guard, Lando Calrissian wearing his undercover guard outfit and Luke Skywalker as a Jedi all in black.

One thing you will notice with Jabba’s Sail Barge is that there is a lot of brown Lego bricks (I remember calling them blocks when I was young) but that doesn’t detract from the look, it makes it more realistic to the Star Wars movie, it is meant to be timber remember. It is a big Lego set without the big price tag of some of the larger sets. You can also make two other models with the parts – turns it into more of movie scene.

The Desert Skiff is simple to build looks good with the plank out ready for prisoners to be dropped into the Sarlac. You have a good number of minifigs needed to make some good fun acting out scenes from the Return of the Jedi movie.

The Sarlac Pit does look pretty good although, maybe, a little bigger. The mouth does look a bit like the mouth of the Sarlac, full of teeth and designed so a minifig can fit in. Maybe a couple of its tentacles would have been nice.

This Star Wars Lego set is fun to play with but you do need to be careful with the sails – they come off just a bit too easy. The windows open up to give you little peeks inside just like in the movie but the big door sides that open are great letting you see and play with all the bits inside the Star Wars Jabbas Sail Barge. There is plenty of space inside to have Jabba and Leia Lego minifigures along with other bits and pieces like the spider and guns and a cool R2D2 minifig running around serving drinks.

Star Wars Lego Freeco Speeder 8085 review

The Star Wars Lego Freeco Speeder 8085 is a set that comes straight from the Star Wars Clone Wars animated show. On the show it is also called the CK-6 Swoop and were the speeders used by the Republic on ice planets.

Anyway that’s enough about the background of the speeder , what about the Lego set itself. Well the set has 177 pieces and the design isn’t too bad for a smaller Lego set, the Star Wars minifigures are good as well. The Lego speeder is very easy to build and holds together very well so kids can play with it without the thing falling apart. The kit has a small sticker sheet for a few of the blocks to make it a Lego Clone Wars Speeder, this is one thing I don’t like – I have mentioned it before that I want printed bricks and to be honest it would not increase the sale price at all (it would only add cents to the manufacture price).

Now the two Star Wars Lego minifigures.

The Thi-Sen minifigure (Thi-Sen is the Chieftan of the Orto Plutonian tribe of Talz) has light grey body and legs with a dark grey hands, spines, cape as well as his face. His head, face, cape, and spines is all one piece just like how the Chewbacca minifig is, with a large molded head that goes down over the torso. He has just one extra, a spear. This Lego Freeco Speeder set is the only set this minifigure comes in.

The Anakin Skywalker minifigure is wearing snow fatigues - a dark royal blue parka that has a fur-edged hood. Anakin has white hands and light grey legs. This mini-figure has a double-sided head; one side has a face with goggles and a cover over his nose and mouth, the other side seems to be the standard Anakin face. He come with a blue lightsaber (it looks to be a different shade of blue compared to others) with a light grey hilt. Behind the cockpit plastic dome you can store Anakins light saber. The parka print is different than the print on the Han Solo one, it has a little more detail in it and has the Rebel symbol on the coat and hood.

Overall not a bad little set. Easy to build and the Lego minifigures are good. A couple of negatives are the stickers and the price, a little too dear for the size of the set (especially in Australia). My son give it a thumbs up.

Lego review - 10215 Obi-Wans Jedi Starfighter collectable

Lego seems to be really good at surprising all it's fans. So when the Lego group announced that they were going to release a new range of Star Wars Lego sets, these fans straight away started wondering what they could actually be. They did not need to wait for very long though. The set for Star Wars Lego that was to be released around the end of 2010 (actually, it's just released in Australia) is going to be the Ultimate Collector Series version of Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter - called, naturally, 10215 Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter.

This ship is the one that was in the Attack Of The Clones movie and is a really smooth looking red and white starship. It is a ship that Jedi Knights have, super sleek and fast and officially known as a Delta-7 Aether-sprite class light interceptor. Although Jedi Knights only do peaceful missions, Obi-Wan found this starship to be very useful when he was pursuing Jango Fett with it's twin-barrelled cannon lasers. In the movie the starfighter used an external hyperdrive ring that was around the ship so it could travel in hyperspace, and although the smaller Lego Obi-Wan Starship sets had this ring the UCS set does not; its omission is one thing Lego could have improved on this model.

The set only has 676 Lego pieces, a lot but not many compared to other USC Lego sets such as the Imperial Shuttle - that has a huge 2500 pieces in the kit. It is a real big model, size wise. It measures 23 cm high (on the included stand), 47 cm long and 22 cm wide and it's retail price is around $99 ($174 in Australia) which I think is a bit much seeing it hasn't a lot of bricks nor Star Wars Lego minifigures - you could argue that the ship isn't minifig scale so should have a minifigure - but one would be nice.. The ship is really easy to build, nothing special of complicated during the build at all.This lego model has a really detailed cockpit and interior and outside has a droid minifigure - a R4-P17 - that rotates in the wing. This minifig will be quite a collectors item as it is bigger and looks different to other droids that are available in other sets.

As with all other USC models this one also comes with a plaque and a display stand to show the ship off properly - the ship can turn around 360 degress so you can pose it just how you like.. My major gripe would be the price point that this set is sold for. I know it is a USC kit but it is too dear, my opinion is wait to get it on sale before rushing out to buy it.
